SPRING!

SPRING.  You can also tell it's spring when the temperature around here goes from 80 to 30 to 50 to 20 to 70.  GAH!  Schizophrenically awesome spring!  ...and pretty flowers.

Rifle Falls, Rifle Falls State Park

Stopped at one of CO's State Parks last week for some easy diversion.  Easy, short walk in the warm last afternoon light.  Not much to be had for photography on this hazy late winter's day, but the roar of the waterfall is reassuring in its attempts to wake everything up from a long stasis.

Sneaky Fishes

Shot this a couple weeks ago as spring was just beginning to announce itself along Colorado's Front Range.  This spot in the little creek always has zippy playful fish, so it's a typical stopping point for me.  While trying to make a suitable photograph of the composition, I switch the camera to video mode to include the sounds of water and wind.  Guess I just got lucky when the action started, it seems the fishes were ready to be rid of the snow too!  Things like this are a kind of meditation for me, maybe you'll find it has a similar effect for you as well.  Give yourself a minute and have a little fun!
